Linx Industries has introduced new Removable Duct Sections (RDS), designed to make duct access faster, cleaner, and more efficient for contractors, service teams, and facility maintenance professionals. Developed in response to the growing prominence of specifications calling for in-line removable duct sections that meet various code requirements, the RDS provides a practical solution for inspection, maintenance, and cleaning applications.

The system can be easily installed in either new or existing duct systems and removed just as easily when access is needed. Each assembly includes one Removable Duct Section, two Linx Transfer Couplings, and two gasketed Linx Transfer Barrel Clamps, creating an airtight removable section within an existing duct run. To access the duct, simply remove the clamps and RDS for inspection, cleaning or maintenance, then reinstall the section for continued system operation.

RDS is ideal for in-duct access and cleaning, smoke detector inspections, and fire and smoke damper inspections. The product is designed for code compliance with IMC 607.4, IBC 717.4.1, NFPA 80 19.2.3, and NFPA 105 6.3.2, helping contractors meet key access requirements while reducing disruption during future service.

RDS kits are available in 6, 8, 10, and 12-inch diameters, with options including G90 galvanized, 316 stainless steel and G90 galvanized double-wall construction with a solid inner liner and R4 fiberglass insulation.
