Submit Your Fab Forum Session Proposal

We are now accepting educational session proposals for the 2027 SMACNA Fab Forum, taking place April 4–6, 2027, in Fort Worth, Texas. This conference will equip members with the knowledge and tools needed to stay ahead in sheet metal fabrication. The 2027 SMACNA Fab Forum will feature an exclusive tour hosted by Southland Industries, giving attendees an inside look at its fabrication operations. If you have insights into topics such as fabrication technology, automation, sustainability, quality control, workforce productivity, or business strategies, we invite you to submit your proposal by October 9, 2026. Speakers whose proposals have been selected will be notified by November 9, 2026. 

Format and Presentation Types

We are looking for engaging, educational presentations that provide attendees with practical takeaways. Topics should be appropriate for a typical 60-minute presentation. SMACNA is looking for a mix of broad topics and in-depth discussions with a narrow focus.

Proposals should focus on key industry challenges, include audio-visual elements where appropriate, and aim to improve the efficiency and growth of SMACNA member companies. Sessions designed to promote a product, service, or external educational course will not be permitted.

Preference will be given to sessions that include SMACNA member contractors as part of the presentation team.

SMACNA Fab Forum Educational Sessions

Focusing on hot topics and key issues related to sheet metal fabrication and technology, these presentations will cover a broad range of topics, from software and machinery to processes, tooling, automation, and business operations.

We are interested in receiving proposals on topics that benefit SMACNA contractors’ fabrication processes, practices, and growth. Topic areas include:

• Innovations in Fabrication Technology: Advancements in machinery, fabrication software, automation, robotics, digital workflows, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies transforming sheet metal fabrication.
• Sustainability and Efficiency: Sustainable practices, energy-efficient production methods, waste reduction, materials management, and strategies for improving shop efficiency and productivity.
• Quality Control and Compliance Quality assurance processes, inspection techniques, industry standards, certifications, and best practices for maintaining high-quality output and reducing fabrication errors.
• Project Management and Business Strategies Project management, cost estimating, lean manufacturing, supply chain management, workforce productivity, and strategies for business growth in a competitive market.
