The Race Is Heating Up

The competition for both the 2026 Top Ten and Capitol Caucus Recognition Programs is intensifying!

While the contribution deadline for the 2026 Top Ten and Capitol Caucus has been extended through Wednesday, October 28, chapters and members hoping to be recognized on Convention signage should act quickly. Recognition materials will be produced using standings and contribution totals received by October 1, meaning contributions received after that date may not appear on Convention displays.

Top Ten Competition Update

The battle for Top Ten positioning continues to shift as chapters make their final push. SMACNA Southern California remains firmly in first place, with SMACNA Oregon & SW Washington and SMACNA Metropolitan Detroit holding the second and third spots, respectively.

Recent activity has reshaped the leaderboard, with Philadelphia bumping New York City out of the No. 6 position. With competition remaining open through October 28, there is still plenty of time for chapters to improve their standings before the final results are determined.

Capitol Caucus Recognition Program

Momentum is still strong in the Capitol Caucus Recognition Program as well, with the program boasting 17 Platinum Chapters, five Gold Chapters, and three Silver Chapters.

SMAC-AF Leadership Club

Launched this year, the SMAC-AF Leadership Club is an association-wide engagement opportunity for individuals, companies, and chapters to be recognized for their contributions to the SMAC Administrative Fund (SMAC-AF). Members who join in 2026 will be recognized as Founding Members – an inaugural group of leaders committed to building the future of SMACNA’s advocacy. Important Deadline Reminder

Contributions received through October 28 will count toward the 2026 final standings. However, only contributions received by October 1 will be included in Convention recognition signage and printed materials. If your chapter wants its accomplishments showcased at Convention, now is the time to act!

Supporting the SMAC Administrative Fund (SMAC-AF) is an excellent way to improve your chapter's standing while advancing SMACNA's legislative efforts. Contributions to SMAC-AF may be made by SMACNA chapters, contractor members, and individuals and there are several ways you can help:

With standings still shifting and valuable Convention recognition on the line, now is the time to rally your chapter members! To ensure you, your chapter, and your company are recognized on Convention signage, submit contributions by October 1. Contributions received through October 28 will still count toward final competition standings, meaning every contribution could make the difference in the final rankings!

Contributions to the SMAC Administrative Fund (SMAC-AF) do not fund political campaigns; they are used solely to cover the costs associated with operating SMACPAC. SMAC-AF accepts personal & corporate funds, there is no limit on contribution amount, and contributions are generally deemed tax deductible (please consult your tax advisor for guidance).
