You build your dampers in-house. You assemble the blade, bar and bushings, and rivet it up. Then you add a wingnut regulator — the one part guaranteed to come loose. Why do damper regulators rattle loose? It's a nut problem. Anybody who's assembled furniture knows it — move it around enough and the joints loosen. Slide a chair across the floor and the legs wobble. Nobody did anything wrong. That's what vibration does to any threaded fastener, wingnut or hex nut.
Now put that nut in ductwork, where there are always vibrations. Always, every hour the system runs. It doesn't take long before the vibrating backs the nut off. A little at first. Then faster. Then faster still — until the blade is flopping in the airflow and the damper is useless.
One office is freezing. The one next door is stuffy. Something rattles above the ceiling and nobody can find it. The tenant calls the building manager. The manager calls the mechanical contractor. A guy goes up, tightens what he can reach, and months later it backs off again. Your customer never sees your seam work. They hear the rattle and they feel that freezing office. Nobody on that chain says "bad wingnut." They say the ductwork is the problem. And the ductwork has your shop's name on it.
Rossi ends it. The Everlock doesn't use a nut at all — it locks with one click. You hear it. Set it and forget it. Patented: US Patent 9,474,919. A union sheet metal man invented this: Vahik Petrossian got tired of wingnuts in his own duct shop and in 1989 built the fix, and SNIPS named him an Industry ICON. Engineers nationwide now spec positive-locking regulators, so stocking Rossi keeps you bid-ready. Made in the USA from American steel. BABA and AIS certified, UL-listed, SMACNA-compliant, 10-year warranty. Make the switch. No more wingnuts. www.NoMoreWingnuts.com
