SMACNA and SMART are asking contractors to nominate a graduate of the SMART Heroes program to be recognized at an upcoming November 19th event in Washington, DC.
SMACNA and SMART ask contractors to nominate a SMART Heroes program graduate working at their company for recognition at the upcoming SMART Hero Donor Appreciation Event in Washington, DC. By October 26, nominate a journeyman, apprentice, or other SMART Hero on your team who has gone above and beyond during their time with your company.
The SMART Heroes program provides free sheet metal industry training to enlisted men and women of the U.S. Military before discharge. After completing the SMART Heroes program and being discharged, the graduate can select any of the 145 SMART apprenticeship programs in the United States and receive advanced placement as a second-year apprentice.
The United States has two SMART Heroes training program locations: Western Washington Sheet Metal near Seattle (Joint Base Lewis-McChord) and Colorado Springs (Fort Carson).
Selected nominees will receive travel arrangements, including airfare, along with a stipend to offset lost wages. Submit nominations by October 26th to Joshua Moore at jmoore@sheetmetal-iti.org.
