Field Materials, the leading construction AI procurement platform has released AI agents that run around the clock to perform purchasing and AP tasks.

41% of today's construction workforce will hit retirement age by 2031. When a purchaser or AP specialist with 30+ years in the trade walks out the door, most of thier knowledge is gone.

Field Materials agents perform the tasks you give them, so that your company’s knowledge is no longer stored in one person's head. You describe in plain English how you do things, and the agent follows your instructions. Agents can message human users for clarifications and can also collaborate with other agents. For example, the new agents can rely on data extraction agents to read supplier paperwork. Thist capability came out of 4 years of work on document extraction, trained on paperwork from over 25,000 suppliers. A quote for rooftop units, a spiral duct order delivery slip, an AP invoice – all have different formats, and the agents are trained to process all of them.

Agents today can process field requisitions and send them to the right supplier or the contractor’s warehouse. They can verify invoice accuracy and approve the ones that have no issues, or flag the ones that need a human look. Agents can also reorder shop inventory when it drops below a set point.

While some ERPs recently added AI chatbot capabilities, there is a big difference when compared to the Field Materials agents. The agents are deterministic, while AI chatbots halucinate. Agents are procurement specialists – they know how to compare supplier quotes, how to process POs, delivery tickets, supplier invoices. And they leverage the integrations with all major construction ERPs, so they can read a project budget and write a PO or an AP invoice back into the ERP.

The company works with contractors in 36 states and 3 continents. Customers include Dynamic Systems, Silicon Valley Mechanical, and Worth & Company.
