Precedent’s new modular architecture means many components are standard across the portfolio, making servicing more efficient and parts inventory management less complex. Every unit comes with factory-installed Symbio® 700 controls for smoother commissioning and integration with a BAS. Additionally, there is a free Symbio Service & Installation mobile app (iOS and Android) that enables easy setup and troubleshooting with no special tools.

Other features of Trane’s Next-Generation Precedent®  include:

  • Backlit LCD onboard interface displays system alarms, diagnostics, and resolutions
  • Direct-drive fans require no belt maintenance or adjustments
  • Hinged access to the control panel is now standard on all models (with optional full-hinged access)
  • Color-coded wiring and keyed connectors simplify installation by minimizing wiring mistakes
  • Coil guards are standard on every model, helping to reduce damage during shipping and installation and offering ongoing protection from hail and other outdoor hazards
  • Uses lower-GWP R-454B refrigerant and includes a factory-installed leak detection system where applicable
