FABTECH 2025 attendees can try LightWELD handheld laser welding and put their welds to the test at the IPG Photonics booth.

At this point, most welders and production managers have heard a lot about laser welding – like how it’s fast, easy to learn, and produces high-quality welds.
But, while many welders are finding success with LightWELD, for those less familiar with laser welding it’s hard to beat trying it in person.
That’s why IPG Photonics is giving FABTECH 2025 attendees the opportunity to get hands on with LightWELD. Interested welders will learn laser welding basics and safety from laser welding experts before getting behind the torch to lay down their first weld.
When welders first see laser welds, many wonder how their strength compares to MIG and TIG welds. For welders that need to see to believe, first time laser welders will also be able to test their laser weld’s strength in an Instron pull test machine right in the IPG booth.
For operations that are ready to take their laser welding to the next level, attendees will also have the opportunity to see the LightWELD Cobot System in action. This new collaborative robot system is designed to combine the power of LightWELD laser welding with no-fuss automation to help busy welders get more done.
