 Safety Sponsorship Overview


The Safety Sponsorship will annually recognize one SMACNA member that supports the objectives of the BE 4 ALL initiative, with an opportunity to attend the National Safety Council (NSC) Safety Congress and Expo.


Who is Eligible: 

Current SMACNA members that meet at least one of the following three criteria: 


  1. Directly represents an underrepresented group, defined as people of color, LGBTQ+ person, women, veterans, people with disabilities, and others who identify as a minority, or
  2. Made an impact in advocating for the interests of underrepresented groups, or
  3. Improved recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups.

Details of the Sponsorship: 

The Safety Sponsorship will fund attendance at the NSC Safety Congress & Expo, to include travel that meets the SMACNA member travel guidelines and one full Safety Congress & Expo registration (total not to exceed $5,000). In return the applicant will present an overview of their NSC Safety Congress & Expo experience to the Safety and Health Committee at their winter meeting, virtually via Zoom.  

 

To Apply:

Applicants will complete and submit the official online application below. The application captures details regarding the respective area(s) in which they support the BE 4 ALL initiative and how attending the NSC Safety Congress & Expo would result in the enhancement or advancement of their safety efforts. 

 

Deadline for Submissions: 

All submissions will be due to SMACNA by July 1st. 

 

Selection Method:

The Safety and Health Committee will review submissions and determine the winner based on the application details regarding their BE 4 ALL support and potential impact attending the NSC Safety Congress & Expo will have on the individual’s advancement in the industry.   

 

Notifications:

The Safety Sponsorship winner will be notified in August, allowing enough time to attend the NSC Safety Congress & Expo in October.
