Garrett Montrone is a dynamic force in the sheet metal industry, blending hands-on expertise with cutting-edge technological insight. As a third-generation sheet metal worker and journeyman, he carries forward the legacy of Western Sheet Metal, a family-owned HVAC business founded in 1968 by his grandfather and now led by his father. In his multifaceted role as Project Manager, Estimator, IT Director, and overall problem solver, Garrett tackles complex challenges daily, driving innovation at Western Sheet Metal.
Garrett holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Utah State University and is a journeyman Sheet Metal worker, with certifications in welding, safety, and SMACNA education courses. From previous jobs, he has gained valuable experience at tech giants like Goldman Sachs and UK2 Group. This diverse background allows him to bring a unique perspective to the industry. Recognized for his leadership, Garrett was selected as an Emerging Leader for SMACNA’s Partners in Progress program, where he championed initiatives to engage and develop future leaders in the sheet metal workforce. Additionally, he was featured in a Lenovo “Difference Makers” spotlight video, highlighting the implementation of technology in a family business and emphasizing the importance of efficiency.
Outside of work, Garrett’s love for fly fishing and golf reflects his appreciation for precision and strategy—qualities he brings to his professional endeavors.
