SMACNA members from across the country gathered in Washington, DC, earlier this month for the 2026 Leadership Conference, meeting directly with Members of Congress and their staff to discuss key issues affecting the sheet metal and HVAC industries.
Conversations focused on infrastructure investment, workforce development, prevailing wage protections, tax policy, permitting reform, and the growing importance of building performance and indoor air quality.
The conference reinforced the importance of sustained advocacy and member engagement as federal policymakers debate funding priorities, labor issues, and long-term infrastructure needs.
