As a senior consultant with FMI, Rick works with a diverse group of general and specialty contractors, construction managers and construction materials manufacturers. Rick’s focus at FMI includes consulting on various strategic, financial and operational issues. He uses his deep understanding of the construction community to identify specific challenges and provide custom solutions to his clients.
Skilled in the facilitation of productivity improvement processes and strategic planning, Rick provides critical analysis and industry comparison. In addition, he works with executives to evaluate their organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Rick is committed to the execution of action plans and the implementation of corporate strategies.
As the director of FMI’s Project Manager Academy, Rick leads a dedicated team of facilitators committed to developing the industry’s project management capabilities. The entire PMA staff has direct construction and manufacturing experience, and is focused on helping turn great builders into great business people. Rick also works with individual companies and associations to bring the Project Management Academy in-house to meet their specific needs.
Rick appreciates the challenges facing contractors today. Prior to joining FMI, he was a regional manager with a large national specialty and service contractor. He also spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force holding a wide variety of leadership positions.
Rick holds a master of business administration degree from Webster University and a bachelor of business administration degree from Campbell University.
