Department of Energy Rolls Out State Home Energy Rebates

$8.5 billion in funding through the Inflation Reduction Act will help homes lower energy costs through the adoption of more energy efficient technologies.

The Department of Energy has announced a funding program to make $8.5 billion available for homes to reduce their energy costs. The program, enabled through the Inflation Reduction Act, is designed to help US households save money on insulating their homes and installing energy-saving appliances. These funds will be made available through grants that will trickle down to state governments.

The Department of Energy has released guidance and opened applications for the new program. Rebates will only be available once states complete the application process and receive funding.
