Several SMART staffing changes have recently occurred. They include Donna Silverman, who will be stepping down as Assistant to the General President effective December 31, 2023. Tom Wiant began transitioning into this role on October 1, 2023. Eastern Region International Representative David Bernett has been permanently appointed to fill the position of Chief International Representative after the untimely passing of Scott Parks on September 6, 2023. Tim Miller, Business Manager of Local 33 (Cleveland), became the International Representative for the Midwest Region on November 15, 2023.
Additionally, Paul Crist, Business Manager of Local 71 (Buffalo), became the International Representative for Eastern Region on December 1, 2023. Craig Taylor was named a Canadian International Representative. Ray Reasons, Business Manager, Local 36, has been appointed 11th General Vice President of the SMART General Executive Council.
