The annual SMACNA College of Fellows Golf Outing is always one of the most popular events at the SMACNA Annual Convention. All proceeds from this event go directly to the SMACNA College of Fellows Scholarship Program. This year’s event will be held Sunday, October 15th on the Palmer Course at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge, which will provide all participants with lifelong memories of breathtaking views of a truly elegant course, at one of the most desirable locations in Phoenix.

The Palmer Course plays up to 7,145 yards, providing a very scenic desert experience. The expansive fairways allow the player to remain in play even on an errant shot. The flashed bunkering on Palmer is superb, and the putting greens carry plenty of undulation, like many Arnold Palmer designs. The expansive square footage of the greens (average size is 7,000 square feet) allow the undulations to create subtle challenges for the short game without feeling contrived or “tricked up”. Don’t let the stunning desert views distract you; the Palmer Course may look like a postcard, but it offers a very challenging and rewarding round of golf. Join your colleagues for this fun-filled target shooting event on the morning of Sunday, October 15. Transportation to and from the Ben Avery Shooting Facility will be provided, and each participant will be supplied with a shotgun, ammunition, 50 clay targets, bottled water, and eye/ear protection. All skill levels are welcome to participate, and safety instructors will be on hand to provide instruction and assistance.
